Not a big deal anymore! |
IIT JEE (Advanced) 2015 results are out. Few dreams fulfilled. A lot of heartbreaks. If you couldn’t clear JEE, don’t worry, its IIT’s loss, not yours. No need brooding over it. Today’s India is far more different that India of 15 years ago. Opportunities are far more than a decade ago.
The hoopla of IIT’s has taken a toll on generations after generations. Lack of opportunities in India, coupled with IT boom and Y2k bug around the years 2000, resulted in a mad rush to IIT’s. Just like becoming an IAS started meant lots of power and black money, IIT’s started became synonymous with US visa. If you need to get out of India, clear JEE. Rampant corruption, crippling infrastructure, lack of jobs, lower wages all came together to the point of feeling, “To Hell with India” and “India ka kuch nahin ho sakta”.
That Indians working abroad, don’t like to admit it, is not a sign of their arrogance and hypocrisy. It’s coz they still have soft corner about their birth country. They fled not because they are bad, they fled due to circumstances.
As of today, a lot of such IT workers have come back to India. Lots of them have lost their jobs in US/UK, due to recession and global uprising against out sourcing. Pay scales have increased 10 fold in India since the year 2000. Today if you are bright, you get a plum job and can live a lavish life in any metro city in India. It’s easy for both husband and wife to get a job in the same city in India. Abroad it’s very difficult. So one of the two ends up working.
What I am trying to get at is, if you don’t clear JEE, don’t worry. Handsome opportunities beckons. Stay focused and be confident. That’s all I ask of you.
such a nice content and informative
