AIPMT 2015 Cancelled: 6 Tips for Students

Supreme Court cancelled All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) 2015. 

More than six lac students who appeared for the exams are facing some anxious moments. 

I am sure they are having millions of questions. 

Don't worry folks, Here are few tip on what you can do in the meanwhile.

Here are 6 Next steps that can help students.

1. Since this a Supreme Court verdict, it is highly unlikely that the decision will change. Time to mentally prepare yourself that re-exam is bound to happen.

2. Stop thinking and start reading. There is no point of endless debates with parents and friends about the CBSE or Supreme Court verdict. It won't help you. You will get a lot of time in life to think about this nightmare. Immerse yourself in your books.

3. Most probably exam will be held 1 month from now. 12th July Sunday seems to be a date as of now. Things will get clear in coming days. Given the logistics involved in organising the exam, it seems unlikely to take place any-time before that.

4. Imagine that exam is still one month away and prepare accordingly. Don't brood over what date CBSE will declare for the re-exam. They will do whatever/whenever they wish. You start revising with one month timetable. 

5. Consider last exam as a mock test. Don't get bogged down by your performance in that exam. Every exam is different. Every day is new. Maybe it's your lucky break. You might better your performance. Don't be too over confident too, if you cracked last exam well. Time to put in hard work again.

6. Keep yourself stress free. Talk to your parents and take their help if required. Just don't take tension.

Controversy in Answer Key for IIT JEE (Advanced) 2015

Barely 3 days before the JEE (Advanced) 2015 results, IIT has released an updated answer key for the exam.

Controversy erupted after leading coaching classes and students analysed the previous answer sheet provided by IIT. A physics question had two correct answers while another one was muddled in ambiguity. After much hue and cry, marks are being to people who have marked either of the answer, while bonus marks will be given to all students for ambiguous mathematics question.

Even with this move controversy is not dying down. Students who didn't attempt the physics question fearing negative marking are up in arms. In IITs every single mark can result in up to 100 change in JEE ranks.

Mumbai FYJC, Minority Quota Admission Begins

Admission Process (offline) in FYJC for minority quota has begum from June 9, 2015 and will go on till June 18. All empty seats after the offline process will be open for online process. Students would need attested copy of SSC mark-sheet along with the school leaving certificate.

A lot of institutions which have upto 50% reservation for Sindhis and other minorities are up for grabs. 

How Not to Not-Crack IIT?

Okay the heading reads goofy, I admit it. But there is a reason behind it. A lot of people meet me for counselling on "How to crack IIT?". What I tell them forms the crux of the article.

What I will tell today, might seem far fetched but believe me, it is the truth. Cracking IIT is not a tough task in itself. All it requires is good guidance and lack of luxury.

The more you live a life of luxury, the difficult it becomes to crack IIT. Remember sense of security breeds incompetence. I urge parents not to indulge too much into their child's wishes at the early age. Imbibe in him/her a sense of insecurity related to money. Don't make it easy on him.

This has to come from inside, I will lead life of a poor man, if I don't crack IIT. This my friend is the easiest way to crack IIT.

I have observed most of the students are sharp. Just that they put their energies in different fields. A good guidance is all one needs. Teacher might not be good academician. He should be a good motivator. Academics will be taken care of by the student himself, who don't want to live poor.

Most of you might not agree with my approach. But it is what it is.

A sense of insecurity and a good a motivator is all one needs.
